The online article published by Radio New Zealand used the headline “Norfolk survey slammed by Canberra’s man” and reported on the reaction by the Australian Administrator on Norfolk, Mr Gary Hardgrave.
The Complainant said the reference to ‘survey’ in the headline was inaccurate as it was a referendum.
The Committee concluded the headline “Norfolk survey slammed by Canberra’s man” did not mislead as to a material point of fact when considered in the context of the article. It said the headline was not in breach of Standard 1 of the Codes of Practice and ruled the complaint was Not Upheld.
